WSA's Special Needs Program

WinnersIntroduction

The Westfield Soccer Association (WSA) offers a soccer program exclusively for special needs children in the Westfield community.  The program, called “Westfield Winners”, is designed to meet the needs of children with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.

***Space for this program is limited and players will be accepted on a first come, first served basis***

Program Description and Objectives

Westfield Winners is a non-competitive, one-on-one soccer program designed to offer a safe environment where special needs children can learn to play and enjoy the game of soccer.  Children will play at their own pace in a relaxed atmosphere guided by their own dedicated ‘Soccer Buddy’.  Westfield Winners also aims to encourage higher self-esteem and a sense of belonging to a team.

Eligibility

The program is open to any special needs school-age child in Westfield between the ages of 6 through 17 and runs in seperate sessions in the fall and spring.

Fall 2017 Session

Session Dates:  Saturday, September 16th through Saturday, November 18th

Time:  10am - 10:45am

Location:  Elm Street Field (across the street from Stop & Shop)

Equipment

To be determined based on field type, but sneakers are fine.  Shin guards optional.

Cost

Westfield Winners is being offered free of charge to any Westfield special needs child between the ages of 6 and 17

Registration

Please note that space for this program is limited and players will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

All participants MUST register online in order to secure a spot in the program.
