According to the C.D.C., the rate of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) ER visits for children and youth between 5 and 18 of age increased 57%. This is likely due to increased awareness of the importance of early diagnosis of TBI and baseline testing.
In our continued effort to educate WSA Parents and Coaches on youth concussions, please use the following link to educate yourselves with HEADS UPS Concussion in Youth Sports online training. Also provided is a link to conduct Baseline testing through ImPACT for your children and players. Baseline testing is recommended for players U11 and up due to testing accuracy. You can contact your WSA Coach to obtain the access code.
The CDC (Center for Disease Control) and NCYS (National Council for Youth Sports) has provided print palm sized information cards and clipboard sized information sheets which can be attached to the back of your clipboards.
