Westfield Soccer Association

Keep as many players involved with youth soccer as possible

Weekly Email 5/6/2015

Coaches,

Hope all is well.

On more than 1 occasion I have communicated our priorities as a club whether it be through emails, presentations for our coaches or when I run in to the coaches on the field. We aim to create the best possible environment for all our youth soccer players who are a member of the association and like to make sure that:

1 - Every child, no matter their gender or ability, is given the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful game of soccer.

2 - We retain as many players possible for the game of soccer and the club as well.

We all have a very important role in making sure the many members in our club are given the opportunity to enjoy the experience. I would like to encourage you all to read the article attached to this email. We are all familiar with the staggering rate of players who drop out of youth sports for various reasons. The goal of this email is not just to repeat that again, but rather to share this very interesting article that might help you rethink your methods as a coach as well. We can't forget that in our role as coaches we have taken the responsibility upon us to make sure our members are given the opportunity to play soccer in a fun, friendly and challenging environment!

Please do not hesitate to share this article with the parents on the team you coach either!

Thank you
