Practice Parent Responsibilities
Every practice must have a Practice Parent who is at the practice the entire time (in case of injury, emergency, etc.).
Here are some guidelines of your responsibilities when you are Practice Parent:
• If you cannot cover a Practice Parent slot, it is your responsibility to find another parent to cover. E-mail the team manager with the change, and she will update the schedule on the team website.
• Make sure that you do not leave the field until you know that every child has a ride home.
• Make sure that all garbage has been removed from the field where our team was playing.
• Make sure that no child has left anything behind (i.e. their bag, hoodie, ball, jacket…)
• Stay for the entire practice.
• Maintain a parent contact list in case of emergency.
• In the rare event a practice needs to be ended early, the Practice Parent should run down the contact list and call the parents to pick up the boys (and wait until they have all been picked up). For a thunderstorm (not too common in the fall, so we’re probably OK), the lightning warning system at Houlihan/Sid Fay will sound an alarm if the players are to come off the field. The light on the system will flash as long as there is danger and goes off once the storm has passed. The practice parent can discuss with the trainer whether the session should end early.
