The U15G Blaze

I am sorry to report that we lost in the sweet sixteen.  It was a hard fought match and at the end of regulation time the score was tied 1 to 1; we then went to PKs where we were out shot 4-2. I think that hardest part for me was after the match the Swedish coach told me that “you guys should have won because you are the better team”. But that is the way the game goes, soccer can be cruel and penalties are never an easy way to decide a match.

I am so proud of the girls, some never thought that we would make it this far but we did. We had a great run for the past the five days; we had great scores, great defense and played brilliantly.  The girls pushed themselves harder than they ever have and they achieved the results.  They have been gracious and humble winners and they handled defeat with class and dignity, and throughout the trip they have been wonderful teammates. It’s been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be associated with such a fine group of young women.
