We left Copenhagen at 10:00 and took a ferry across the Oresund sound where we were able to see Kronborg Castle, which served as the setting for Shakespeare’s tradegy Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. We then boarded a coach for a very scenic drive through the country side of Sweden. The landscape is breathtaking.

At the end of our three hour journey we arrived to a thriving Gothenburg! The entire town is soccer, it’s an unbelievable sight!!! The amount of teams that are here will blow your mind and I have never heard so many languages spoken in one place. As you walk through the cobble stone streets you see a sea of colors and every team has its own chant! It’s amazing. Thanks to Anne we now have an FC chant which the girls are chanting as they walk through the streets! The city is so beautiful and the girls love it here as well.
In the afternoon we were able to visit the Heden Center and see many teams practice. We had a very light training session here as well where the players conducted static stretching and first touch.
Monday is our first game; we play at 1:50. Then it’s on to the opening ceremonies......wish us luck!

Coach Yvette
