Day 2 - Copenhagen and Our First Friendly
We started with an early morning breakfast and at 9:00 we had our first training session. After the training we had a photo opportunity with Esbjerg – a men’s professional team. The girls really enjoyed meeting them; they are a famous team here and finished seventh in the Danish SAS-Ligaen - their premier league.  Right afterwards we headed to Copenhagen for some shopping and to see the Jazz festival, which we all really enjoyed.
Esbjerg and the Blaze

We had our first friendly today against Malmo who is perhaps the top U15 team in Sweden, but unfortunately we lost 3-2. Our first goal was scored by Hannah Kronick off a wonderful pass from Sam Costello, and our second goal came from a Caroline Schkeeper corner kick which Avika Shah volleyed mid flight into the top corner. It was a very close match and we had a lot of opportunities, but we could not finish, perhaps the jet lag had something to do with it. After the match their coach told me that they went undefeated this past season and that we were the best competition they have had all year.

We are wrapping up the day with a great BBQ and then heading to bed to get ready for another long day!

Best Regards,

Coach Yvette
